The commencement ceremony of Yingkou HeptaChroma was held successfully

2016-05-23

Yingkou HeptaChroma Co., Ltd. held a grand opening ceremony at Liaoning (Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base for its FTO conductive glass production on August 12, 2011. There are over 50 guests including leading representatives from Yingkou Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Yingkou Municipal Economic Commission, Yingkou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, Liaoning (Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base, Dalian University of Technology, Investment companies etc. Li Songli, the party secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liaoning (Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base, Peng Xiaojun, the dean of State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals of Dalian University of Technology, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Liaoning (Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base is an important part of the “Five Points and One Line” coastal economic belt of Liaoning. With the special advantages of location, transportation and the supporting system for industrial development, Liaoning (Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base is focusing on the development of advanced equipment manufacture, spin and weave garments, electron equipment, modern logistics, biological pharmacy, agricultural and aquatic products processing, new materials and the application of new energy etc. Simultaneously, to foster Yingkou’s new key industries, to promote the integrate competition capability during the great adjustment of industrial structure and new strategic arrangement. HeptaChroma reached consensus with Liaoning(Yingkou) Coastal Industrial Base about the construction of a production base for the industrialization of the dye sensitized solar cell and FTO conductive glass, and got the substantial support from Coastal Industrial Base. Dye-sentisitized solar cells are extremely promising because they are made of low-cost materials, do not need elaborate apparatus and harsh processing condition to manufacture. The cells have a simple structure that consists of two electrodes and an iodide-containing electrolyte. One electrode is dye-absorbed highly porous nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (nc-TiO2) deposited on a transparent electrically conducting substrate. The other is a transparent electrically conducting substrate only. TiO2 is a very common material and the dye can be an organic type like a coloring made from blackberries. Considering the shortage of fossil energy, DSCs provide a more affordable way of harnessing clean and abundant solar energy.

A production capability of 1,000,000 square meters FTO conductive glass per year could be achieved after finishing the first phase of this project in Yingkou Heptachroma, which will lay a foundation for the second phase of the project------Dye-sensitized Solar Cell. Heptachroma is striving to become the most competitive enterprise in the new energy field in China in five years.
